First introduced during Generation VI, Hoopa is – in its default form – a dual-type Psychic/Ghost Pokémon known as Hoopa Confined. Hoopa, meanwhile, was first discovered by Pokémon hackers in 2013 but officially revealed in a 2015 issue of Japan’s CoroCoro magazine. Pokémon Sun & Moon also introduced a brand-new location – the Alola island region, inspired by Hawaii – and an uber-powerful new move called the Z-Move. Featuring 81 brand-new species of Pokémon, the game was popular among fans and soon ranked as one of the best-selling Nintendo 3DS games. Released to commemorate the Pokémon franchise’s twentieth anniversary, Pokémon Sun & Moon came to Nintendo 3DS in 2016 and was the first installment in the Generation VII game series.
Here’s how players can get Hoopa in Pokémon Sun & Moon.
